The second day of India vs Bangladesh second Test match at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur has been called off due to continuous rain and a wet outfield. Not even a single bowl got bowled on day 2 of the match. The constant drizzles since morning at Kanpur forced the washout of the whole second day of the Test match.

Even when the rain fully ceased for an hour, the water on the covers was too much that it could not be soaked with the help of only 3 Super Soppers available in the stadium. There was also no sun to dry out the water naturally. The ground staff could not even remove the covers the whole day. Even when the rain again stopped near 1:30 PM, the umpires decided to call off the day as the weather was highly inconsistent and there was still a lot of water left to clear from above the covers. Both the teams also did return to their hotels before the lunch, as they were also not expecting a play on day 2 because of the weather.

The rain also limited the first day of the match to only 35 overs. However, the weather forecast on Sunday is also not good, and we can expect a better amount of play on day 3 as compared to the first two days. The Indian team is keen to have a result in the second Test match, as this would help them get ahead in the contention of WTC finalists. Whereas if the second test match gets drawn. The Indian team will need to win 5 out of their 8 Test matches in order to make their cut to the WTC finals.
