Indian veteran bowler Ravichandran Ashwin has broken a series of records in the past few days. Recently, in the first test match against Bangladesh, Ravichandran Ashwin surpassed Anil Kumble, and became the Indian with the highest wickets in the fourth inning of the test match. As of now, Ravichandran Ashwin has already taken 99 wickets in the fourth innings of the test match, and is just a wicket away to become the first Indian player to clinch 100 wickets in the fourth innings of the test match.

Earlier, this record was held by Anil Kumble who had taken 94 wickets in the fourth innings of the test match, followed by Bishan Singh Bedi, who had taken 60 wickets in the fourth of the test match.

Ashwin also Surpassed Kumble in another record too. After dismissing Najmal Hossain Shanto, Ashwin became the player with the 2nd most test wickets in Asia by surpassing Anil Kumble who has bagged 219 test wickets in the Asian continent in his career. Now, Ashwin is just behind the Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan, who has taken 612 wickets in the continent.

Apart from this, Ashwin is also the fastest Indian bowler to reach 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, and 450 test wickets. Ashwin also holds the record of the Indian with most man of the series awards in test matches, and also the player with the second highest man of the series award in Test cricket across the globe.

Ashwin is currently at number 1 in the ICC test rankings, followed by his fellow mate Jasprit Burman at number 2.

Not just bowling, his performance as an all-rounder has also been up to the mark. In the first match against Bangladesh, Ashwin scored a century when the top order of the team was struggling on the same surface. Ashwin is also at No. 2 in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings.
