A new significant milestone in Test cricket by Jadeja

Indian star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has once again proved himself as one of the choicest all-rounders in test cricket by achieving another giant milestone in the format. On the fourth day of the second Test match against Bangladesh, after picking his first wicket, Jadeja became the second fastest player after Ian Botham of England to achieve 300 wickets and 3000 runs in test cricket.

Jadeja achieved this milestone in 74 matches  and became the 11th player overall and the second fastest player to score 3000 runs and 300 wickets in Test cricket, leaving behind players such as Kapil Dev, Imran Khan, and Ravichandran Aswin. He also became the fastest Asian to reach 300  test wickets and also the first and only Indian to reach 300 test wickets.

 Currently, Jadeja has the third highest number of wickets in a test, having a win rate of 72.24 by having 216 of 299 wickets in won tests. Jadeja also became the fourth fastest Indian cricketer to reach 300 Test wickets. He took 300 wickets in just 74 matches, being behind Ashwin, Anil Kumble, and Harbhajan Singh, whereas surpassing veterans such as Ishant Sharma, Kapil Dev, and Harbhajan Singh. He also holds the record for the highest score by a number 7 batsman or lower in test cricket, by scoring 175 runs.

 Since his debut for the Indian Test team in 2012, Jadeja has been a prominent all-rounder and a match winner for the team. Jadeja’s tally of records does not just stop here, this 35-year old all-rounder is also the only player in Test cricket history to have 2000 runs and 200 wickets in winning cause. He also has the third highest success rate by a bowler in Test cricket and the highest by a spinner. His 216 wickets out of 299 wickets have resulted in winning cause, having a success rate of 72.74%.

The duo of Jadeja, Ashwin is among the best duos Indian Test cricket has ever witnessed . Not just with bowling, they both are also up to the mark with their bat. The duo have also surpassed the duo of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh as the most successful spin bowling pair, and both Jadeja and Ashiwn have taken 504 wickets in 50 test matches.
