DDCA Women’s T20 Tournament: In a landmark moment for women’s cricket, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has launched its first-ever Women’s T20 Tournament, kicking off on June 9, 2025. The tournament features 41 clubs divided across five groups and more than 615 players aged 14 and above, marking a revolutionary step in the promotion of women’s cricket at the grassroots level in the capital.
The tournament’s opening match saw N.K. Khanna CC take on R.P.C.A, setting the tone for what promises to be a fiercely competitive league.

Gracing the occasion, Sangeeta Jaitley, wife of the late Arun Jaitley, emphasized the tournament’s impact on gender inclusion in Indian sports:
“This is a historic movement in Indian cricket. No other state association has held a T20 tournament dedicated solely to women. Until now, female cricketers had limited visibility through private events. This initiative will empower young girls and inspire many more to take up cricket.”

Shikha Kumar, DDCA Vice President, reflected on the execution of this long-awaited plan:
“The commitment we made has now been fulfilled. Secretary Mr. Ashok Sharma and the association have ensured full support for our young players.”
