Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025: After a tough loss against UP Warriorz, the Delhi Capitals are set to regroup and make a strong comeback as they face Gujarat Giants in their fifth match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.

Currently placed third in the points table with two wins and two losses, Delhi Capitals are determined to fine-tune their performance. Head Coach Jonathan Batty acknowledged the team’s strengths while addressing areas for improvement.

Batty Reflects on Previous Performance

Speaking about their recent defeat, Batty praised his bowlers for a strong start but pointed out the need to minimize extras in crucial moments.

“We bowled really well for the first 16-17 overs but conceded some unnecessary extras. This is something we need to tighten up. We have been improving significantly in hitting the right lengths consistently,” he said.

Despite not sealing a couple of close matches, Batty remains confident in the team’s potential.

“We have played some really good cricket. Moving forward, we just need to fine-tune a few aspects, stick to the basics, and keep our confidence high. Every game is an opportunity to win,” he added.

Focus on Strengths Against Gujarat Giants

Looking ahead to their upcoming clash against Gujarat Giants, Batty acknowledged their opponents’ balanced squad but emphasized the importance of playing to their own strengths.

“All teams in the WPL are strong, and Gujarat is no exception. They have quality international and domestic players. Their bowling lineup relies more on spin, and they also have some dangerous batters. However, our focus will be on executing our plans effectively,” he concluded.

With a crucial match ahead, Delhi Capitals will look to bounce back and solidify their position in the tournament. The encounter promises to be an exciting battle as both teams vie for crucial points in their WPL 2025 campaign.
