GT will look to bounce from a loss when they host SRH in match 12 of
IPL 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. This
ground is a batting friendly as it is a very even wicket where the
bowl comes onto the bat well.
Shubman Gill-led GT come into the match on the back of a 63-runs loss
to CSK in Chennai, while Pat Cummins’s SRH are fresh from a 31-runs
win against Mumbai Indians in a record-breaking night in Hyderabad.
Both teams will aim for wins, having registered one win and one defeat
each in their two outings. GT will be a little confident as they play
at their home venue, but will be wary of the SRH batting fire-power.
When we talk about GT, they have a decent team. Shubman Gill who was
the orange cap winner last season is yet to score big runs same goes
for Wriddhiman Saha. Sai Sudharsan has performed well in both the
matches, GT is lacking behind in the lower-middle order where David
Miller, Vijay Shankar and Rashid Khan has not performed up-to-mark. In
the bowling department GT is a very strong team, in the presence of
Umesh Yadav, Mohit Sharma, Sai Kishore and Rashid Khan all these
players have quality in their bowling with different variations ,
Azmatullah Omarzai has also bowled well in the powerplay. It will be
tricky to see which wicket keeper GT goes for in this match will they
go for Saha or Matthew Wade who is now fit and available for the next
match.
On the other hand SRH has performed very strongly in this season so
far. Except for Mayank Agarwal and Abdul Samad all the other batsmen
have performed well, Heinrich Klaasen who is currently 2nd highest
scorer after Virat, so far has played with a fabulous strike rate of
over 200. SRH has been a quality bowling side from the start, in the
lights of Bhuveshwar Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat they have experience in the
start then Pat Cummins, Mayank Markande and Shahbaz Ahmed in the
middle and back-end. All these bowlers have quality they can be a
little expensive at times but they know how to purchase wickets.
Watching current form of players and flat Ahmedabad wicket SRH are
favourites to win this encounter.
