IPL 2025: The Gujarat Titans have once again demonstrated their strong commitment to sustainability by efficiently managing waste at the world’s largest cricket stadium — the Narendra Modi Stadium — during the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 season. In the seven home matches played so far, the Titans have collected and processed an impressive 93,385 kilograms of waste, continuing their eco-friendly legacy for the third consecutive year.
Building on Past Successes
This achievement builds on last season’s record when the Gujarat Titans managed a total of 1,04,777 kilograms of waste through comprehensive recycling, composting, upcycling, reuse, and donation initiatives during their home fixtures.
Managing Waste at a Mega Venue
With a seating capacity exceeding 100,000 spectators, the Narendra Modi Stadium presents a unique challenge and responsibility in implementing large-scale sustainable practices. The Gujarat Titans have leveraged this platform to execute an end-to-end waste management program that minimizes environmental impact while maintaining an excellent fan experience.
Breakdown of Waste Collected
The waste collected this season comprises 83,761 kilograms of dry waste and 9,624 kilograms of wet waste, processed through decentralized sorting, recycling, and composting systems. Excess food and other usable materials are donated to local communities, contributing both to environmental sustainability and social welfare.
Partnership with NEPRA Resource Management Pvt. Ltd.
The Titans’ partnership with NEPRA Resource Management Pvt. Ltd. plays a crucial role in this initiative, managing the entire waste lifecycle from collection and segregation to transportation and final processing. Additionally, the campaign includes stadium-wide sensitization drives focusing on hygiene and proper waste disposal among food stall operators and fans, supported by visual communication tools such as banners, posters, and bin signage, as well as social media outreach.
Leadership Perspective
Colonel Arvinder Singh, Chief Operating Officer of Gujarat Titans, emphasized the franchise’s commitment:
“At Gujarat Titans, it is our endeavour to contribute towards a cleaner, greener future. With our partners, we are transforming waste into resources after every home game at the Narendra Modi Stadium. We are proud of our fans’ ongoing support and their role in driving this mission forward.”
Social Impact and Empowerment
Beyond environmental impact, the campaign has empowered local waste workers, including many women, promoting social equity through a circular economy framework.
Continuing the Journey Towards Sustainability
As the TATA IPL 2025 progresses, Gujarat Titans continue to lead by example, making meaningful changes both on and off the field towards a sustainable future.
