England’s Youngster Harry Brook did brilliant with his bat after
scoring a whacking triple century on the day 4 of the test match.
Harry Brook came to bat on the third day, maintained a good
partnership with Joe Root, and ended day 3 at his personal score of
142 runs. Joe Root also scored a double century and put 262 runs under
his name, but Harry Brook had better plans as he converted his century
to a triple century today. This triple century ended the 34 year test
triple century drought of England. Brook’s century made him the sixth
English cricketer to score a triple century in test cricket.
Throughout the innings, he continued with his bazball approach as it
came in 310 balls, which also made him the second fastest to score a
triple century after the Virender Sehwag’s record of 278 balls.
That triple century of Brook and the double century of Root helped the
English team to reach a total of 823 runs, which is the fourth highest
total by the team. Meanwhile, they still didn’t go all out at 823, but
they declared the innings at just a loss of seven wickets in order to
turn the results into their favour rather than going for a draw. The
team ended their inning with a lead of 267 runs in their hand.
Following a brilliant batting, England replicated their performance
in their bowling too, as the bowler Chris Woakes striked in the very
first bowl by getting out the hero of the first innings of Pakistan,
Abdullah Shafique, for a golden duck.
The Pakistan team is looking in a critical condition as of now. The
team has also lost wickets of Sam Ayub, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan
and the skipper Shan Masood by still having a trail of more than 200
runs. If the visitors get the 5 wickets left before allowing them to
score the remaining runs, the England will triumph the series opener.
