The 24-year-old young gun Hassan Mahmud’s dazzled spell has amazed all the cricket fans with his 5 wicket haul in the first test of the two-match test series against India.
Hassan firstly bagged the wicket of the Indian skipper Rohit at his score of 6, by getting the ball edged and getting it caught by the second slip. After Rohit, Hassan overpowered Shubman and sent him back to the pavilion for a duck. And in his next over, he succeeded in getting Virat Kohli out at a score of 6. Therefore Hassan Mahmud single-handedly demolished the top order of the Indian batting in the first session of Day 1. Later on, when Rishab Pant and Yashaswi Jaiswal were trying to rescue the Indian innings, Mahmud striked once again, clinching the wicket of Rishab Pant. The Indian team was preparing more for pacers like Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana, but Hasan Mahmud came out of the syllabus. By clinching the last wicket of the innings, Hasan completed his fifer and became the first Bangladeshi bowler to have a 5-wicket haul in India. Hasan bowled a spell of 22.2 overs in which he allowed 83 runs to score at an economy of 3.72 by bagging 5 wickets of India. Hasan does not have a huge Test career, before this match, Hasan had only played 3 matches in which he was able to get 14 wickets.
This right-arm fast bowler made his international debut in the year 2020. Later on, after seeing his impressive performance in the ODIs and T20I’s, Hasan got a chance to play first his country in the Whites in March this year against the Sri Lankan team. The Bangladeshi team will be hoping more such spells from this pacer for the upcoming matches as he can turn out be the next pace sensation for his country in the future.
