The Gautam Gambhir era is going to start from 27th July against Sri Lanka. Team India has arrived in Sri Lanka on 22nd July and now  today India will be having three hours continuous net practice and also this is first training session with their new head coach Gautam Gambhir

Focus mainly on  Shubman Gill

As Shubman Gill is not only selected in T20 and ODI squad but he is also the vice-captain of the team in both the formats. The BCCI have shown their trust on young lad. This is his golden opportunity to deliver the runs in this series. Moreover player like Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh also have to prove themselves in this series. These young lads will be first looking  to impress Gambhir in the training session

Focus on spinner rather than pacer

Sri Lanka pitches are known for its slow track and a typical sub-continental condition so main focus will be to play spinner rather than pacer in the training session so the Gambhir`s first assignment will be focusing on top order and hard hitter to hit the nets.

Sri Lanka also have good quality spinners like Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana so the players like Virat kohli who have been selected in ODI  squad struggle against left arm spinners have to practice hard in the nets.

Rohit and Kohli set to travel Sri Lanka next week

Meanwhile Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and other players who have been selected for ODI against Sri Lanka will be travelling to Sri Lanka next week and will start there practice sessions from next week. This ODI series will be crucial as India will be playing champions trophy next year in march.
