Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah breaks silence on Hardik Pandya’s situation when he went through the unnecessary booing and hate from the MI fans in the IPL. Hardik replaced Rohit as the captain of MI which was unacceptable to the MI fans and Hardik received an unjustifiable hate across the venue wherever he traveled with the MI team. MI had a disastrous IPL season where they finished last on the points table.
Bumrah and Hardik both are teammates in MI, he recently revealed what was going on with Hardik and with the MI team during the IPL. Bumrah said that as a team they cannot leave a man behind, they are there for each other, they are trying to help each other. Bumrah also said that they understand that they live in a country where emotion is the talking point, fans do get emotional and players too. It’s an emotion driven country, Bumrah added.
It does affect that you are an Indian player playing in India and your own fans are talking that about you but it’s the way it is and you, you have got to take it on your chin, Bumrah said. If you start to focus on yourself you can try to shut that door, Bumrah added.
Bumrah on Hardik
While talking about Hardik Bumrah said that as a team, they were talking to him (Hardik) if he needed any support, his family would be there and the world could think what they want, certain things are out of your control and if it happens it happens. Bumrah also said that the narrative on Hardik changed after his exceptional performance in the T20 World Cup, he said now the narrative on Hardik has changed after they won the World Cup. They can not take it seriously because if a few days later they have lost one game the narrative would change again.
Bumrah also stated that during the IPL it was them against the whole world and they stood beside Hardik Pandya.
This year has been a rollercoaster ride for Hardik Pandya where the year started with hatred around him and constant booing in the IPL, things were also not good in his personal life where he recently announced separation from his wife and after an all-time low performance from Hardik during the IPL he made a stunning comeback in the T20 World Cup and played a key role in India’s triumph.
