After a historic and memorable title win in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), are all set to make history again with a one-of-a-kind Trophy Tour. The franchise will travel with the coveted TATA IPL trophy across several cities in India to celebrate their remarkable victory and connect with their loyal fanbase.
This is the first time in IPL history that a franchise is organizing a Trophy Tour beyond their home city, and the initiative aims to give KKR fans across the country an opportunity to interact with the trophy and relive their team’s achievement.
Trophy Tour Details
Starting on February 14, the tour will visit nine cities, beginning in Guwahati, and will return to Kolkata, the City of Joy, on March 12 and 16. The cities covered will include Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Gangtok, Siliguri, Patna, Durgapur, and Kolkata.
Binda Dey, Group CMO, Knight Riders Sports, shared her excitement, saying, “We are thrilled to bring the Trophy Tour to our fans in Eastern India. Unfortunately, due to some unavoidable reasons, we couldn’t hold a victory march in Kolkata after our title win last season. For us, our fans are like family. They’ve supported us through thick and thin, and this tour is our way of bringing the trophy back to them. The love and support from our fans were key to our success last season.”
