Ahead of the mega auctions the franchise owners are set to meet with
the BCCI at the end of July to discuss retention and purse value,
some big changes could happen. According to the reports IPL franchises
are likely to demand an increase in the purse value from BCCI, the
value is 90 crores, and they want an increase up to 130-140 crore.
Transfer and retentions
Many new changes in all 10 teams are going to happen, the teams will
get shuffled in the mega auction which will take place in March-April
in 2025. Many reports of player leaving the franchise and big signing
are surfing around, some of which are:
Eyes on Yuvraj Singh
Head Coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki are
likely to leave the Franchise, while Yuvraj can replace Nehra as the
Head Coach. Gary Kristen left the franchise when he joined the
Pakistan team full time. Following the disastrous 2024 season, Gujrat
Titans are reportedly looking to rebuild their coaching staff. GT, who
won their debut season in 2022 and was the runner-up of 2023 IPL,
finished 8th in 2024.
Rahul Dravid`s returns !
According to the reports Rahul Dravid is set to return to his old
Franchise as a coach. He was associated with RR both as a player and
as a coach.
KL Rahul to join RCB !
The biggest news circulating around related to IPL is that the current
Lucknow SuperGiants captain KL Rahul might leave LSG and join RCB as
Faf du Plessis’s successor. LSG is not looking to retain KL ahead of
the mega auction.
Pant to join CSK !
There are several reports claiming that DC’s captain Rishabh Pant is
set to leave the franchise and join the 5-time winner CSK as MS
Dhoni’s Successor. Some reports also claim that DC’s management is not
happy with Pant’s decision.
Rohit to leave MI !
Rohit Sharma was replaced by Hardik Pandya as the MI captain in the
last season. Due to which there are reports that Rohit is keen to
leave the franchise and end his tenure with MI. GT and DC are the two
franchises looking for a skipper and might target Rohit.
Suryakumar and Bumrah to also leave !
Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah might also join Rohit in leaving
the franchise, both were bothered at being overlooked as the captain.
