Strengthening Indian Boxing’s Future

BFI President and Interim Committee Chairman Mr. Ajay Singh emphasized the tournament’s significance:

“This Elite Women’s Boxing Tournament is a crucial step in strengthening the domestic structure. It not only offers competitive exposure to our top athletes but also creates a platform for emerging boxers to challenge the best and earn a place in the national camp.”

He added that the initiative is part of a larger strategy to build bench strength, develop new talent, and sustain India’s momentum on the international stage.

Building on International Success

India’s women boxers recently secured one silver and five bronze medals at the Thailand Open 2025. This tournament will further bolster preparations for upcoming global events, including the World Boxing Cup finale later this year.

With its mix of seasoned champions and young challengers, the Elite Women’s Boxing Tournament in Telangana is set to be a showcase of India’s growing boxing prowess. As the country eyes future Olympic success, this domestic event will be critical in shaping India’s elite women’s boxing squad.
