Pratham Singh, a 32-year old all-rounder who made his debut in domestic cricket in 2017, is gaining attention of cricket fans on account of his century against India D on day 3 of Duleep Trophy. He scored an incredible 122 of 189 deliveries at a strike rate of 64.55 with the help of 12 fours and one six. This Delhi born cricketer has a compact domestic career in which he has played 29 First-class matches, 28 List A matches and 41 T20 Matches.

Pratham was also picked up by Gujarat Lions in IPL 2017, but wasn’t fortunate enough to get a chance in the playing 11 that season. Later on in 2022, he again made his comeback in the IPL as he was bought by KKR for 20 Lakhs INR in IPL 2022.

Pratham Singh is a left-handed batsman and a right-handed off spinner. In his first class debut against Maharashtra, he scored 73 runs off 154 balls. He was also the third highest run scorer in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2018-19 and the highest scorer for Railways in 2020-2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

He was not part of the initial India A squad announced for Duleep Trophy. But later on, when Shubman Gill got injured, Pratham Singh was included in the squad for the remainder of Duleep Trophy. The decision of replacing Shubman Gill with Pratham Singh proved to be beneficial for India A as a result of his brisk century in the second innings.

Apart from his sporting career, Pratham also has a remarkable career in studies. In the year 2015, he obtained his Bachelor Degree of Technology in Electronics and Mass Communication from J.S.S Academy of Technical Education. In 2022 he got admission in Indian School of Business, Hyderabad to continue his post-graduation.

As a consequence of starting his career late, Pratham could not get enough opportunities to showcase his skillset. Despite getting selected for Gujrat Lions and KKR in IPL 2017 and IPL 2022 respectively, he could not get a chance to play a single match in the league. However If he continues to score good knocks the way he did in this innings, he can still catch the attention of IPL  franchise owners and make his comeback in the IPL.
