On 31st July there was the meeting between IPL owners and BCCI some key decisions were taken on foreign players and on uncapped player retentions moreover there was heated argument between some IPL owners
There was a penalty of discussions between 10 IPL teams owners and BCCI Officials at BCCI headquarters in Mumbai on Wednesday evening but the main point of discussion was about mega auction. The board will make the decision in upcoming weeks regarding the mega auction.
Decision on uncapped player
In the meeting BCCI has taken the decision on retaining the uncapped player. There are many talented uncapped players in every team like Ashutosh Sharma in Punjab Kings, Sameer Rizvi and Mayank Yadav in Lucknow super Giants could be retained due to their caliber
Decision on foreign players
Last season we all know that some players take their names during auction as well as some English player left the IPL teams during playoff due to which some teams get huge loss due to which lost in playoffs especially Rajasthan Royals when Buttler left the team in playoff due which they lost with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2nd eliminator . Now BCCI will take action against foreign players on last minute withdrawal.
Conflict between IPL owners
The annual meeting was about the exchange of information between IPL Owners on player’s retention and right to match card (RTM), auction purse and impact player rule. This meeting turned interesting when two IPL owners wanted to postpone the mega auction by a year. Reports says that some teams like Royal challenger Bangalore, Punjab kings and Delhi Capitals were interested in mega auctions this year due to their poor performance and the teams like Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians are not interested in mega Auction this year while one team which is uncertain about their decision is Gujarat Titans
Delhi capitals owner verdict
Delhi Capitals owner Parth Jindal said that he is surprised that some teams are against mega auction and wanted small auction according to him IPL teams should understand that mega auction will make the IPL more competitive.
At the end BCCI head jay shah said that all IPL owner’s feedback will be considered while making the final decision
