Joe Root, who is already considered one of the greatest players England has ever witnessed that too before the end of his career, scored yet another century in the first test match against Pakistan in Multan. In the beginning of the day, Joe Root had a big responsibility on his shoulders to take his team to a total close to that of Pakistan. He also got enough support from his fellow partners, such as Ben Duckett, who is usually an opener but came to bat at No. 4 as he injured his finger in the last ball of Pakistan’s innings.

But the player who is giving the most pleasure is Joe Root, who completed his 35th Test century and broke a number of records today. During this period, Root surpassed players such as Sunil Gavaskar, Alastair Cook, and Brian Lara, who had 34 Test centuries. Today, he also surpassed Cook as the most run scorer for England in Test cricket by crossing Cook’s record of 12427 runs. He also has an average above 50 in Test cricket and is currently at No. 1 in the ICC Test Batsmen Rankings. Root has been the backbone of England’s Test team for more than a decade.
He recently also scored a Test century in Lords against Sri Lanka. Despite the whole team having that attacking intent, Joe Root focuses on building his innings in his own way rather than rushing for runs blindly, which makes him one of the greats in Test Cricket. He has saved the batting order of his team from collapsing several times. Root also has the most centuries in winning cause, as 23 of his previous 34 centuries came in winning cause.
