Junior Andrew Flintoff becomes youngest U-19 player to score hundred for England

Rocky Flintoff the son of the former England captain and renowned England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff became the youngest player in the history of England under 19 to score a century.  His record-breaking knock came against Sri Lanka in a test match at Cheltenham on Thursday

Rocky Flintoff Milestone

16 years old Rocky scored 106 runs of 181 balls in which he scored 8 fours and two sixes lead England to a huge lead of 324 runs against Sri Lanka in the second test.

England dominance

Rocky’s important partnership with Jack Carney of 78 runs led England to the commendable total of 477 runs in the first innings. Jayden Denly who is the nephew of Jao Denly, the former England test cricketer also scored crucial 91 runs before falling short of century.
English skipper, Hamza Shaikh also scored a century for England scoring 107 off 211 balls in which he scored 11 fours and two sixes. England’s bowling department was also up to the mark with Navya Sharma, the right-arm fast bowler who took five wickets destroyed Sri
Lanka’s batting line-up and also Harry Moore and Charlie Barnard took
two wickets each.

Both power hitting and class
Rocky innings showed the mixture of class and power hitting. He batted with much maturity in such a less age and also with some power hitting abilities. He played like a warrior focusing mainly on the team’s needs rather than individual glory. His maturity, concentration and determination could make him a great player.

Good young talent for England

With his eye-catching knock, he announced himself on the big stage. He could be the promising future for England if he continues to break records like this by following the footsteps of his renowned father.
