Rishabh Pant to participate in Delhi Premier League’s first season?

Rohan Jaitely the president of Delhi and District Cricket Association has confirmed that Rishabh Pant will feature in the inaugural season of Delhi Premier League which will start at the mid of august.

Not only Rishabh Pant but Harshit Rana and Navdeep Saini are also going to feature in Delhi’s T20 league, Matches will be played at the Arun Jaitely stadium. This tournament will have both men and women’s matches.

At the trophy presentation ceremony DDCA president Rohan Jaitely said that Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, Harshit Rana and other Indian players will feature in the inaugural season of DPL, he has talked with Rishabh Pant and Rishabh has promised him that he will participate in the league but it only depends on his availability and national commitments, but as of now Rishabh will be playing and Navdeep and Harshit will also feature in the league.

Auction for the selling of 6 men’s teams was held on Sunday, the teams were sold at 49.65 crores. West Delhi Lions, North Delhi Strikers, South Delhi Superstarz, Purani Delhi-6, Delhi Kings and East Delhi Riders are the franchises that are going to play in the DPL. 40 games will be played in the tournament including 7 which will feature women cricketers. 270 players from Delhi national, U-19, U-23 are in draft of DPL. Star Indian bowler Ishant Sharma might be the other big name to feature in the tournament.

Veteran Indian Cricketer Virender Sehwag who is the brand ambassador of the game has shown his excitement for the tournament and has said that this league will surely be a fantastic opportunity for those players who work hard in nets but didn’t get a chance in any major tournament. He also said that when he used to play in his younger days, he didn’t get this type of opportunity to play in different leagues but now his son who is playing is getting these great opportunities.
