PBKS will be taking on GT this Thursday at the Narendra Modi cricket stadium, Ahmedabad. PBKS is coming from a defeat against the LSG and GT is on a winning note beating SRH in their previous match, both the teams will be looking to win this encounter and get those two points. Currently GT is on 5th and PBKS is on 8th in the points table.
GT has been a very good unit in all departments. In fast bowling, they don’t have a quick fast bowler who can bowl 140 plus consistently but their bowlers have quality in their line-length and swing. Starting from Azmatullah Omarzai and Umesh Yadav in the power-play, both the bowlers have bowled well picking up 6 wickets combined but their economy is on a slightly higher side of 10. Shubman Gill has used Mohit Sharma well in middle and slog overs with his pace and slow cutters. Mohit Sharma has picked up 6 wickets in 3 matches with an economy of 7.75. Spencer Johnson has also bowled decent spells till now he has 3 wickets in 2 matches but his economy is high of 10. Overall GT fast bowling unit has picked up wickets but except for Mohit Sharma no other pacer is economical.
PBKS have Radaba and Arshdeep Singh who can bowl 140 plus regularly, starting from Sam Curran and Kagiso Rabada in the power-play, both pacer have impressed a lot. They have picked up 8 wickets combined in 3 matches with an economy of 8.5. Arshdeep Singh is used in both the power-play and back-end. He is very good with his wide Yorkers in the end, he has picked 4 wickets in 3 matches with an economy of 9.25 which is slightly on a higher side. The only weak link this year in PBKS bowling is Harshal Patel who has given runs at an economy of more than 11 this season and has picked-up only 3 wickets.
Overall PBKS has a more experienced and quality fast bowling line-up compared to GT. They have quality throughout the innings as their bowlers except of Harshal Patel other bowlers have been economical and have picked up wickets.
