The prestigious Hero Indian Open 2025, India’s premier golf tournament, is set to take place from March 27 to March 30 at the DLF Golf & Country Club, Gurugram. The tournament, co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Indian Golf Union (IGU), will feature a prize pool of $2.25 million and bring together some of the world’s top golfers.
The event is a crucial stop in the DP World Tour’s Asian Swing, which also includes the Singapore Classic, China Open, and Hainan Classic.
Global Stars to Watch Out For
This year’s tournament will see participation from several high-profile international players, including Jacques Kruyswijk, Johannes Veerman, Julien Guerrier, Angel Hidalgo, Frederic Lacroix, David Ravetto, Ewen Ferguson, and Guido Migliozzi.
Among the key names is defending champion Keita Nakajima of Japan, who made a significant mark in global golf by winning the 2024 Hero Indian Open. Germany’s Marcel Siem, the 2023 champion, will also return to the competition.
Indian Golfers to Lead the Challenge
Leading the Indian contingent will be Shubhankar Sharma and Veer Ahlawat, both of whom have earned their place on the DP World Tour through consistent performances. Ahlawat, who finished runner-up in the 2024 Hero Indian Open, went on to win the PGTI Order of Merit and has now secured a spot on the DP World Tour.
Additionally, Manu Gandas, who competed on the DP World Tour in 2023, will be another strong Indian contender. A major attraction will be rising Indian star Kartik Singh, who has delivered outstanding performances in international events, including multiple top-10 finishes in South Africa and Australia. Kartik, the reigning All India Junior Champion, also won the Singapore Junior Championship last year and represented the international team at the Junior Presidents Cup and Bonallack Trophy.
