The first window of Ranji season 2024 to 2025 is set to begin on October 11. Ranji teams have announced their squad ahead of the first window of the season. Let’s take a look at some of the star players who will be featuring in the different Ranji teams.
Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad will be leading the Maharashtra Ranji team. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who recently got his maiden call up for the Indian team for the Bangladesh T20I’s, will be featuring for the Andhra team. Alongside him, other Indian players, such as KS Bharat and Hanuma Vihari.
Youngster Tilak Verma has got the opportrunity to lead Hyderabad in the upcoming season. Whereas players, such as Avesh Khan, Venkatesh Iyer, and Rajat Patidar will be playing for the Madhya Pradesh team .
There are a number of big names in the Karnataka Ranji team. Mayank Agarwal will be leading Karnataka. Mohsin Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and Devdutt Padikkal will also play for the Karnataka team in the first two rounds.
Indian veteran pacer Shami, who was expected to take part in the first two rounds of Ranji trophy by playing for Bengal, also missed out the first two rounds as he sustained a niggle injury ahead of the Ranji first leg. He wanted to play the tournament in order to prepare for the Border-Gavaskar trophy but his injury stopped him to do so. Other players such as Abhimanyu Easwaran, Akashdeep, and Mukesh Kumar will represent the Bengal team .
Whereas Tamil Nadu announced their squad for only the first round. It will be led by R Sai Kishore. Vijay Shankar and Shahrukh Khan are also named in the squad. The Delhi Ranji team is also featuring a number of recognized players . Players such as Navdeep Saini, Hrithik Shokeen, Yash Dhull, and Ayush Badoni.
Jaydev Unadkat will continue to lead the Saurashtra team, also having Cheteshwar Pujara in the squad. Shashank Singh is also named in the Chhattisgarh squad.
