WPL 2025: The UP Warriorz, led by captain Deepti Sharma, have put up some thrilling performances in the ongoing WPL and have now arrived in Lucknow for the first time to play on their home ground. The team received a grand welcome at the KD Singh Stadium with enthusiastic fans and a vibrant cultural program.
Owned by Capri Sports, the UP Warriorz will play their home matches at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, starting with a clash against Gujarat Giants on March 3. Following that, they will face Mumbai Indians on March 6 and defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 8.
Season Highlights So Far
Despite a slow start in Vadodara, the UP Warriorz built strong momentum with thrilling wins against Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. One of the standout moments of the season was Grace Harris’ hat-trick, the third in WPL history and the second for UP Warriorz. Additionally, Chinelle Henry delivered a stunning performance, smashing 62 runs off just 23 balls, equaling the record for the fastest fifty in WPL history (18 balls).
World No. 1 T20 bowler Sophie Ecclestone was at her best when UP Warriorz clinched a Super Over victory against RCB, earning her the Player of the Match award. Among the Indian contingent, captain Deepti Sharma has led from the front with both bat and ball, while players like Kiran Navgire, Vrinda Dinesh, Shweta Sehrawat, and Kranti Goud have all made significant contributions.
