GT will be taking on RR this Wednesday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. This is a high scoring ground, but has always been on the slower side. Spinners have been dominating in this ground, as seen in the previous match where the veteran Virat Kohli was struggling to run against RR spinners. Teams chasing here have won 65% of matches at the SMS stadium.
The hosts probably have the best spin combination of IPL, the veteran Ravi Ahswin and Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal is second on purple cap list, he has bowled well both in the middle and slog overs, he has 8 wickets this season with an economy of 6.35 on the other hand his partner Ashwin, he bowls throughout the innings, Sanju Samson uses him in power-play, middle overs and slog overs as-well he has picked up only 1 wicket till now but has maintained his economy rate. Riyan Parag is also a handy spinner, he is also sometimes used to bowl 1-2 overs.
On the other hand GT also has quality spinners, Rashid Khan is backbone of GT bowling, how-ever he is not on his peak this year he has only 5 wickets with a slightly higher economy rate of 8.65 but he is more capable. Noor Ahmed is also a quality bowler, he has bowled decent spells till now he has 3 wickets in 3 matches with a good economy of 7.17, except of these Afgan stars GT has Sai kishore as-well he has also bowled decent spells till now.
Overall RR has better spinners as compared to GT, RR spinners have wickets in combined and have bowled very economical spells, where-as GT spinners have been economical but haven’t picked as many wickets, this spinners battle is not only RR Vs GT but also India Vs Afghanistan.
