India’s star all-rounder, is on the verge of achieving a significant
milestone. He is just four wickets away from claiming his 300th Test
wicket. The second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur presents an ideal
opportunity for him to reach this landmark.

Jadeja has already demonstrated his batting and bowling strength
against Bangladesh in the first test in Chennai where he scores
crucial 86 runs when Indian team is in spot of bother with the score
of 144 for 6 which helps Indian team to recover from that horrific
situation in first innings. Jadeja continued his impressive
performance into the second innings, restricting Bangladesh to just
149 runs with a spell of 19/2. This took his Test wicket tally to 296,
inching him closer to the coveted 300-wicket milestone. Those 2
wickets came at a very crucial stage because Litton das and Shakib al
hasan was stitching the partnership nicely and took Bangladesh score
from 40-5 to 90-5.

In the second innings he took 2 more wickets which helped him to take
overall 298 test wickets with just 2 wickets behind of 300 wickets.
Jadeja now owns 298 scalps from 73 Tests, averaging just 24-plus in
test cricket with the batting average of 36 which is quite
extraordinary. He has overall 13 fifers in Test Cricket. 215 of his
scalps have come at home at 20-plus average which makes him more
deadly for the opposition batters when he is playing in India.

Notably, Ashwin and Kapil Dev are the only other Indian all-rounders
with the double of 3,000 runs and 250 wickets in Test cricket. Since
the debut of Ravindra Jadeja he remains an asset for Indian cricket in
all three aspects batting, bowling and fielding in all three formats
especially in Test cricket. His main strength while bowling is that he
always pitches the ball wicket to wickets which tells his consistency
and accuracy. Consistency and accuracy with the simple action is the
main reason why Jadeja took 298 wickets in just 74 test matches. His
main strength is that he never complicates things and never makes
unnecessary changes in his bowling action. Now Indian fans will be
hoping that he will achieve 300 wickets in the Kanpur Test and will
establish his name in the tally of legendary bowlers in test cricket.
