After the end of the India versus Bangladesh Test and the Sri Lanka versus New Zealand first test, the new ICC test rankings, there are a number of changes in the latest rankings after the concluded performances of players in previous test matches. After scoring a century in the second inning of the first test against Bangladesh.
Indian wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who recently made his comeback in test cricket after more than 18 months, has again entered the top 10 test batsman list, he is now placed at sixth rank in the table, whereas Indian skipper Rohit Sharma dropped down by five ranks in the list on account of only scoring 11 runs in the first test match against Bangladesh, and now is placed at 10th rank. Shubman Gill, also moved up by five ranks in the list and is now at 14th rank in the Test batting rankings.
Whereas in the Test bowler rankings, Ravichandran Ashwin is still holding the top spot, followed by Jasprit Bumrah and Josh Hazelwood of Australia at second and third rank respectively. Ravindra Jadeja is ranked at sixth spot in the latest rankings.
In terms of ICC test all-rounder rankings, Ravindra Jadeja is leading the list at top rank, and the second rank is held by his fellow mate Ravichandran Ashwin whereas the third rank is occupied by Bangladeshi veteran all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan. Another Indian all-rounder Axar Patel is also among the list holding the 6th rank.
Indian Batters like Virat Kohli will be eying on increasing their rank in the ICC Test batsman ranking, in the second Test match against Bangladesh in kanpur. Whereas the other players such as Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin will also aim to retain their ICC test all-rounder and bowler rankings respectively.
