The Indian team clean-swept the guests Bangladesh by defeating them in
the second test in Kanpur. The match in which an outcome was expected
to be difficult because more than half of the match time was washed
out due to rain, India again did a phenomenal job to turn the results
in their favour.

The Bangladesh team ended Day 4 on 26 runs by losing two wickets to
Zakir Hasan and the nightwatchman Hasan Mahmud. On the start of day 5,
the Indian team was expecting to end the innings of Bangladesh as soon
as possible and then chase the target within the day in order to win
the match.

The mutual partnership between the skipper Najmal Hossain Shanto and
Mushfiqur Rahim pushed the score of Bangladesh to 91 for the loss of 3
wickets. But Jadeja’s quick series of 3 wickets within a span of 6
runs, in which he sent Shanto, Rahim, and Shakib back to the pavilion
within 6 runs. Later on, Bumrah also contributed by his bowling and
limited the score of Bangladesh to 146. Bumrah, Jadeja, and Ashwin
bagged 3 wickets each in the second innings of Bangladesh, whereas
Akashdeep picked up one.

Having only a target of 95, the Indian batters continued to carry on
their same batting approach, chasing down the target in just 17.2
overs by 7 wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal replicated his performance in the
first inning by hitting yet another 50. Both Virat and Rishabh
remained not out, and Pant ended the match by hitting the four and
leading his team to the match win.

Yashasvi got awarded as the player of the match for his 50s in both
the innings with more than 100 SR.  Ashwin got the player of the
series for his astonishing contribution with both bat and ball.
Alongside, the win was also crucial for the teams in terms of the WTC
finals qualification. The Indian team only needs to win 3 out of their
8 upcoming matches in order to make their way to the finals.
